The production of corn husk on the territory of Slovakia originated in the traditional environment at the end of the 19th century. Until that time, the maize leaf was considered worthless waste. Ductility and flexibility predetermined it on the skin’s raw material. The production of the scaffold has spread along the whole southern border of Slovakia and the dolls have become a typical Slovak product, which is suitable as a representative gift. In United States of America is a well know as a Native American corn husk doll.
